History of Tamagotchi

Tamagotchi was released on November 23, 1996. This “handheld care toy” became a global phenomenon mainly among high school girls.

Since 1996, a total of about 91,000,000 units have been sold across the world. (Up until March 2023.)

In July 2023, the first built-in Wi-Fi model “Tamagotchi Uni” was released worldwide. You can meet Tamagotchi characters from around the world via the metaverse called “Tamaverse”.
